State Specific Question About: VIRGINIA (VA)

Can a landlord force you to move with two weeks notice, siting a foreclosure, and move you into another property they say they own, asking for increased rent and a 2nd deposit? Only to find out, the property wasn't sold, the landlord still owns the property, and changed their name? Then, the second property is owned by a family member, goes up for auction, sold to the original landlord who put you there in the first place. --65.88.xxx.xx

u dont have to move until a judge tells u but its not a good idea to get the landlord mad at u.because he can probably dump u 1 way or another. --208.58.x.xx

Maybe the landlord knows he is going to lose the property. He will get notice way ahead of when you would. Maybe he knew he was buying the second property and that he would own it.

He offered you the second property. Maybe he had to have a higher price as payments would be higher. Higher rent = higher deposit.

If you are in a decent place and it is worth the rent you are paying be happy. If it is not worth what you are paying you should not have agreed and you should look for another place that will make you happy --208.94.xxx.xxx
