State Specific Question About: KENTUCKY (KY)

I moved to another state and rented my home to my aunt's grandaughter- She refused to sign the lease after I sent it to her twice- my aunt finally signed it instead of the tenant. Is this legal? It was because of my aunt that I let her rent it. --24.42.xxx.xxx

The landlord is in charge. The tenant is not.

End it now.

These types of tenants and their enablers will cause you no end of trouble. They have decided they are in charge. Now will come their lists of demands.

END IT!!! --64.12.xxx.xx

20,000 lease months speaking here...

I heartily agree with the previous posts.

This is the beginning of trouble. And now Auntie is in the middle of it, too! You'll be the bad guy to 2! relatives!

Politely but firmly tell the tenant "this is not going to work out. Auntie's signature is invalid. You'll be happier somewhere else. I'd rather be your relative than your landlord. this is your notice to vacate." The less you say the better.

Get her out. Any money you lose during turnover will be way less than the bill she'll run up.

Do you REALLY want to take Auntie Em to court? --69.243.xxx.xx

I sent her the lease twice and she refused to sign. Then she wanted to rewrite it. I told her no I never heard of the tenant writing up the lease; that's when my aunt said she would sign it.But they don't hestitate to ask me to sign papers when she needs something for foodstamps etc. --67.173.xxx.x
