State Specific Question About: SOUTH CAROLINA (SC)
i was wondering if i can just report someone to the credit bureau for trashing my property for a dollare amt owed. i did keep the security deposit but the damages are much more. dont know where they went. they wouldnt even meet me to give back the keys. thanks..... --71.204.xxx.xxx |

I think that you need a Judgement to verify your claim. I did that quite awhile ago but then decided it wasn't worth it cause there I was spending more money on top of what they already owed me . --70.250.xxx.xxx |

Other than going to small claims court for extra damages, I know that Mr. Landlord has a reporting agency as part of the website. I really need to know more about this system... it cost a minimal amount. But how do we get qualified to report? --75.129.xxx.xx |

You always need the judgment, what you might have messed up on is the sending of the accounting statement in the time allotted by local/state law - if you go to court now without proof of timely service even if it was returned the case may be dismissed - always send them to the last known address - your old place. This shows negligence on the defendant behalf, if they countersue once you place the damage amount - what will your defense be? --76.241.xxx.xxx |
