State Specific Question About: VIRGINIA (VA)

Tenant modified terms of lease twice, I modify terms once, transfered keys and possession to tenant, accepted damage deposit, 1st months rent. Next day tenant objected, I resended (same day) my modification to the lease.

Tenant refused her previous terms and filed in general district court a (warrent in debit) for 1st months rent and damage deposit which the judge awarded to her.

I represent myself 3-4 times every month (win 95%+ of cases) in court but I have never filed an appeal, does anyone have any advice other than get a lawyer (which would cost as much if not more than the $1,100.00 at stake.

Follow your state laws and local ones as well, visit housing court often to observe the practice of this-n-that judge. Copy all documentation for judicial review, and ask for eviction if no agreement. --76.241.xxx.xxx

You can do yourself and post check/payment as the bond --64.12.xxx.xx
