Confused about rental deposit return to two renters, First one checked out 6 mo ago, now the second has moved out. Shall I return the deposit in both names. Thank you!

Carmen, I believe if both signed the lease, you send an accounting to both and split the Security Deposit between them. Then they hash it out between themselves, if one paid more than the other.. --12.54.xxx.x |

i would tell them i can return jointly or half to each whichever they want.if they are going to fight about it i would just sit on it till they agree to either option above.we had that once.eventually they agree to half to each as i recall.they both wanted all at first. --208.58.x.xx |
