It's called abandonment...and the rules and laws vary a lot from state to state...so first check on WI laws by clicking on the Landlord/Tenant State Laws link at the top of this page to see if you can find usefull details...or not. If you are lucky and find info...you may find that you need to store the left behind for a certain number of days, etc. if really lucky...you can simply dump the remains...

Regarding the changed locks..most states have a common rule...you need to post a 24 hr notice enter and drill change back the locks to your LL key...

Hopefully some other WI LLs will also respond more than my generic response.

try to get keys.if u can get keys she is gone.if no keys u have to go the abandonment route.states differ.sometimes a few bucks will get u the keys.worked for me a while back. --208.58.x.xx

Have a locksmith change locks. Post another notice with your telephone number for ex tenant to contact you.

You must have access to the unit for emergencies such as water leaks etc. --70.189.xx.xxx
