State Specific Question About: GEORGIA (GA)
My former tenants cleaned the carpet before they left, but a doggy smell remains. Any suggestions for treatment or the name of a professional, who works the Acworth, GA area?
Thank you! --74.184.xxx.xxx |

Baking soda sprinkle around the door/s and heat vents - if still stinky then you have to deduct the carpet from security deposit. --99.160.xx.xx |

Maybe the tenants cleaned the carpet themselves. Maybe you should call a professional carpet cleaning company who can re-clean it and apply some deodorizing chemicals. Also, google OdorXit. --98.247.xx.xxx |

Jondon dot com remove urine and urine odor, and also just some good deodorizers.
Lots o good chemicals to spray before the carpet men comes because they use them sparingly.... --68.58.xx.xx |

If you want to clean the carpet yourself, rent a Rug Doctor. I have my own Rug Doctor that I purchased directly from the company because I got tired of paying carpet cleaners just to surface clean the carpet anyway.
To get rid of pet odors, I make a mixture of one cup of baking soda and two scoops of something like Oxy Clean per gallon of water. Then I spray the surface of the carpet and let it saturate for a few hours. After the mixture has soaked for a few hours, I use the regular Rug Doctor chemicals to clean the carpet.
Your tenants probably cleaned the carpet with one of those $99 Hooever machines you can buy at Walmart. Make sure that if you don't have a professional come out that you use a machine with a heavy duty pump so you can extract all the water from the floor. The dirty water sitting on the carpet holds the smell in. --72.147.xx.xx |

A good steam cleaner may help. They also have deodorizing sprays.
If that does not work, recarpeting is cheaper than having tenants who complain and move out. --76.99.xxx.xx |
