State Specific Question About: ALABAMA (AL)
I have properties in Montgomery, AL and have been told multiple stories about the eviction process because of new Landlord-Tenant law which was passed a year or so ago. One person tells me that it could take up to 4 months to evict a tenant where as the other person tells me that one can evict the non paying tenant in 3 to 4 weeks.
I would like to understand the exact process (i.e. step-by-step, along with timing of each step).
Would appreciate any help.
regards

Get an eviction attorney that can prove he/she knows the new laws and ask them to explain the process and the fees. Ask them for the correct wording and time frame for the notice to pay.
Do not try to do this yourself from CA or with your manager until you are well versed in the process. Beleive me, I am in CA and have a property in AL, you cannot charge tenants for legal fees anymore either. --69.229.xxx.xx |
