State Specific Question About: TENNESSEE (TN)
Hi. I've got a recent vacancy in a rental house that has taken longer than I would have liked to get re-rented. I've lowered the rent twice and am now offering a special 1/2 off first month's rent. My problem seems to be advertising, as the rent I'm asking seems in line with my competitors. I rely mainly on the local on-line newspaper (which hides the classified For Rent ads in as inconvenient a places as possible on the website), about every other week in the print newspaper, and on-line on craigslist (which has been very unrewarding thus far) and also with signage. I seem to get interest through the signs, but I can't keep them up. As the calls start to trickle off, I go out and my signs are gone! Any ideas on the best places to post "For Rent" signs or other forms of advertising beyond the above? Thanks!

I would recommend doing a web search for something such as "house for rent such and such city Tennessee", and post an ad on whatever site comes up first if the price is reasonable.
RentalHouses dot com has worked for me in the past but it may differ by area of the country. If you can't get it rented out for the free ways you've been trying and in the expensive newspaper, paying $30-45 to get it rented out quickly is definitely worth it. --216.26.xxx.xx |

KT,
My problem is that I post the signs on busy street corners, etc. I think either competitors or city employees are removing them. Very frustrating. --66.199.x.xxx |

Sign in the yard, 4X6 cards on bulletin boards all around the area. Look in laundromats, stores, gas stations, schools, factories. --71.87.xxx.xx |

Gloria,
Thanks for the advice. May I ask where in TN you are located? --66.199.x.xxx |

A professionally made sign doesn't hurt. So often I see the generic fill-in-with-a-majic-marker type. --75.117.xxx.xxx |

I used rentalspacenetwork.com. We got a fair amount of hits there as we could load several photos, and it will cross post to Craigslist for you easily. --63.230.xx.xx |
