State Specific Question About: WASHINGTON (WA)

Does anyone now how may days, weeks or months it takes for a guest to become a unauthorized Tenant. When a unauthorized Tenant becomes a tenant, can I hold them to a lease and make them a Tenant? I did process and application and background check and they passed but they do not want to be on the Rental Agreement.

I heard that after a week they do not have to leave and they become a tenant with all the responsibilities as the lease holders. --67.183.xxx.xxx

Check your lease. I would be surprised if it's not addressed there. --24.99.xxx.xxx

You can insist that they be put on your lease. Hopefully this is addressed in your lease. This is a hard thing to prove. You could always serve notice to cure or quit. --167.6.xxx.xx

it will ultimately depend on your state's landlord/tenant laws.

In Canada, Ontario, LL's have are basically forced to accept new "guests".

They have all the rights of tenants and dont even have to give any personal info, let alone agree to a credit check. --99.234.xx.xxx
