My apartment complex is two doors down from a Zen Buddhist teaching/retreat center/monastery. I've drawn a lot of tenants from there, and overall they've been great -- quiet, clean, respectful, pay on time. But as this center becomes better known -- it was new a couple of years ago -- it's drawing students from out of the country. These folks want to rent from me, too. My only concern is how to check credit internationally? I've been using the credit/eviction check service through this site, but they can't do anything about international credit checks. I did rent to one young man on the strength of photocopies of his father's bank statements and his father's co-signing of the lease. But not everyone is going to be young enough to have a mother or father willing to co-sign.
Anyone know how to check credit internationally?

My American wife is a Buddhist, so maybe I am biased. I would work out a high sec. dep. being paid by the center. they can guarantee and take care of the rent payment.
For British tenants, there are ways. Most people do online banking. I would log in to my HSBC account at your office and show you my tax returns online. 192.com will bring up my past residence... For $ 4, I can purchase my own credit report.
Warning: many Brits cause a lot of damage to excessive boozing. But Buddhists may not be into binge drinking and then smearing hot dogs all over. In Chinese hotels, one sees the staff dry the matresses which get soiled every bloody night! --125.25.xx.xxx |
