State Specific Question About: ALABAMA (AL)

How long does it take to have an inspection?

While I am waiting can I order reports?

Thanks --208.7.xx.xx

Uhhh, just what are you inspecting? A house, an apartment, a litter of Golden retriever puppies for sale?

Try giving us a little more of the picture and maybe we can help. --204.80.xxx.xx

I'm sure that she is referring to the Credit Checks here and the now-required site inspection.

If you were able to run credit reports already (i.e. not a new customer) then, yes, you should be able to continue to run reports for now while you wait for the inspection. They have been really pushing to get them all done by the end of this month though, so things could change soon, I think.

I requested the inspection (via TrendSource) on Tuesday, got a call back on Wednesday, and it is scheduled for tonight. (And she was willing to do it yesterday if I had wanted.) So, it was pretty quick for us once requested.

Note that they just use local contractors though -- so it could vary greatly by area.

Just to note it, my inspection was just done. It was the first inspection ever for my contracted agent. All went well except that I had just repainted the house numbers on our house and she needed a picture with them up there. So, I quick glued them up -- and they stayed up just long enough for a photo or two. heh.

I also explained to her how I thought it was funny that I had to have a locking filing cabinet and a shredder -- since I never, ever print credit reports. She agreed -- but still too pictures of them all, of course. :)
