State Specific Question About: CONNECTICUT (CT)

Am I obliged by law to open a "tenant account" with the security deposit, or can I put it in a CD in my name and give the tenant the higher interest?

She's filled out the W-9 to open the account, but the regular savings account pays such low interest.
