I gave my tenant a 30 day notice since I do not want to rent to him any more, he is a tent at will with no lease currently. He did not pay me my rent this month and his 30 days is up 7/7/08. What should I do now. I asked him for the rent money and he said that he used it to get a nother appartment, but he is not moved out yet and said he will not be out until 7/7/08 fully. i would start eviction as soon as u can in your state if he didnt pay rent.i believe u cannot start before midmonth in maine.do not rely on what he told u.get a landlord tenant atty if u havent done it before .maybe someone here can help or see a local landlord group or maybe u have a friend in thre biz or see yellow pages.i assume he is a very bad tenant bcs throwing people is expensive and the next guy wont be perfect either.good luck --208.58.x.xx

I think it's 6 days in ME. If it was due 6/1/08, and hasn't paid, you should have already filed eviction-he failed to pay. He might end up trying to use SD for last months which is a no-no. --167.6.xxx.xx
