State Specific Question About: MONTANA (MT)

During the application process, can we ask income related questions, i.e. monthly gross or other income or do we just have to go off of place of employment? --206.127.xx.xx

Yes you can ask about their wages. You verify with their employer that what they put down is true.

Do you need a application form? If so there is one at this site in the links above.

yes we are- with the market the way it is, we build homes and we have decided to hang on to one and rent it out till the market improves. I've heard nightmares about renters and being sued for discrimination during the rental application process.

Have you had much experience in renting homes? --206.127.xx.xx

You'd better! You want to know they can afford to live there.

Glenda, you need to read Landlording by Leigh Robinson PRONTO and preferably also The Landord's Kit by Jeffrey Taylor. This is not just a "let's see how renting a house goes" thing. You need some background information before you start on this venture in order to protect your property and your sanity.

Lots of info out there, and read this site EVERY day. You'll get some good stuff. --65.54.xxx.xxx

Are felonious ex-convicts a protected class? A former drug dealer, who served his time, has applied to rent from me. --24.7.xxx.xx
