3% to 4.03% That's what the inflation rate is now. --24.249.xxx.xxx

It's month to month so technically one month but if the tenant goes to court it looks better if you give 60 days, so says my former lawyer who is now in DA's office. Check to see if there is any rent control. If not then you can ask for more than inflation rate which is artificial now anyway. Lord knows what it is with the price of oil removed as they did during the Clinton administration. During Jimmy Carters administration it was 12% at one time and I think up to 22% for a short time. Again, if this would be fought in court by the tenant you want to be nearer the inflation rate that farther from it. But with the price of oil a lot of larger increases should be justifiable. Me, I'm going to insulate more. --76.99.xxx.xx

Oregon law just says the rent raise can't be "unconscionable." I love that. what a word. seems to give a lot of leeway.

But what you really need is CT law and practices, hopefully a CT LL will weigh in along with the rest of us. --24.21.xx.xxx
