State Specific Question About: IDAHO (ID)

I have a couple of tenants that I need to find. I have their social and want to run another credit report/background check to see if there is another address for them so I can serve them and or find their employer to have their wages garnished. It states that I have to have their permission to run the report. I had their permission when I first rented to them is that good enough?

Thank you,

Denise Schoelen --71.37.xxx.xx

Nope...do more, just in case...

Do a Google on their name.

If young tenants, do a search on YouTube.

Find net sites like Zabasearch to check.

Contact the emergency contact names on the original application and the employeer(s)...call them to say you are trying to locate to find where to send the security deposit back too...

Those are all free...last resort, pay to hire a professional skip tracer (look in Yellow Pages) some bailsbondsmen do that too... --71.168.xx.xxx

Before you can think about garnishing wages, you have to have a judgement first, which I guess is why you're asking the question.

If you have a "legitimate business reason", you can run the credit check without their permission, says the FCRA.

If they owe you money, it's a legitimate business reason. Don't sweat the permission.

Not sure who said it, but it's easier to beg forgiveness, than to ask for permission.

If you have their signed permission to run credit reports, go for it. In my application, I have a signed permission to run credit reports for purposes of application, verifying credit problems during tenancy, pursuing debts after tenancy, etc.
