My husband and I are in desparate need of a place to live. I am 38 weeks pregnant, expecting anytime. My husband works 9-5 M-F while I stay at home. We currently live with his parents, which are threatning to kick us out unless we pay 600 a month, for what..all our food we buy for ourselves to be gone, a little room that hardly fits our bed and our baby's bed. To me it isnt even worth it, at least we give them something every month to help out but they are not thankful for that, they just want more. I know there is something else out there that we can afford, and would be actually helping someone out as well as ourselves. We don't have alot of furniture, just what goes in our room. We keep to ourselves and won't be bringing in people. Please anyone, If there is anything you can do to help us out so we can get on our feet without parents slowing us down, I would be very very thankful. We will pay every month on time, gauranteed. We will even sign an agreement stating that we will.

Come on -- you know if it wasn't for their parents holding them down, they'd both have full-time jobs and IRAs!

If they could just get OUT of this free room and board, THEN they'd have plenty of money!

heh.

Dear Las:

Everything I'm writing here is written without sarcasm or hostility:

If you rent your own place, the rent for a 2 bedroom apartment will be AT LEAST $600 a month--plus utilities.

My suggestion: Pay the $600 a month and stsrt saving. Don't jump from the frying pan into the fire.

I'm sure husband's parents love their son, their daughter-in-law, and their grandchild. It's just that the house gets a little crowded, and parents getting older. etc.

Maybe you could pitch in and help with housework.

About 10 years ago, my youngest son, his wife and family lived with my husband and me for 1 school year. (they were between houses. They'd sold their house and were shopping for another. Told them to take their time shopping. My 3 story houses had plenty of room. I was happy to see them come and happy to see them go. Five extra people really filled the place up! We all still love one another. LOL)

So, dear Las, do you best to make the situation workable. --205.188.xxx.xxx

Las,

the sad part is that idiot will be able to vote. Somehow I don't think she will be voting for someone who thinks you should take care of yourself.

Imagine she is even willing to sign a lease. --66.56.xx.xx

What an interesting twisted set of values this CL poster (whiner) has.

" I know there is something else out there that we can afford, and would be actually helping someone out as well as ourselves."

(I'm surprised. She is only half way lost in the entitlement/the world owes me gig. The use of the word actually makes it sound like it's a first for her. Probably. She wants to, for the 1st time, trade $ for a roof. What a concept!)

"Please anyone, If there is anything you can do to help us out so we can get on our feet without parents slowing us down,"

(Not only is she ungrateful to his parent, she actually feels validated that his parents are the reason that they can't 'make it on their own' =GAG=)

"We will pay every month on time, gauranteed. We will even sign an agreement stating that we will."

(Ah yup that is the way it is done. In writing. Sure promise the moon. Are you collectible Heck no.)

Ethics? I doubt she even has that word in her vocabulary.

Thanks for the eye opener, CL Post of the Day, Las
