State Specific Question About: OREGON (OR)

Do I need to mail and post a 30 day no cause notice? Do I have to use a form or can it be by letter. I have sold my duplex and the new owner wants the tenants to vacate. --75.170.xx.xxx

Are they on a fixed term lease or MTM?

If already sold, the new owner needs to do whatever needs to be done.

You have to allow for 3 additional days if you ONLY mail the notice. You can personally had it to them or Post it on their door AMD mail it for the 30 days to be only 30 days.

No specific wording necessary. Some sort of polite note is fine. --24.21.xx.xx

There are 3 ways to deliver notices in OR.

1. Personally deliver

2. First class mail, but you have to add 3 days to the notice period.

3. First class mail AND attach it do their door (aka nail & mail) which doesn't require the additional 3 days, but you can only use this method if it is written into your rental agreement as a acceptable service method.

Either form or letter works.

Is this something that the buyer justs wants or is it a contractual obligation for you? Remember that sales often fall through. --24.21.xx.xxx

This is a MTM. It was put in the contract that I would give tenants notice once all conditions of the sale were met and we are 35 days from closing. --75.170.xx.xxx
