State Specific Question About: VERMONT (VT)

tenant said he will move out on feb 1st. as of the 3rd, i still don't have possession of the property.

can i charge him for the extra days there?

Two questions: did you get his intention to move out IN WRITING, and does your lease contain a holdover clause stating that tenant will be responsible for rent on a pro-rated basis if occupancy is continued past the declared move-out date? This clause is also necessary to protect you in the event that you've re-rented the unit but then can't deliver possession to the new tenant possession as you had promised.
