hello. how much deposit would you as a landlord require for a pet? is there a typical amount? i would appreciate your advice --72.87.xxx.xx

Each state has it's own rules so check the laws in your state. Kansas allows 1/2 of one month's rent.

However, I've started charging a $25 increase in rent for pets. That way, I can get more than the allowed deposit and I don't have to return it when they leave. --207.69.xxx.xx

We started using a $200 non refundable fee and $25 per month. Even that may not be enough if there is damage on a $500 rental with a $550 security deposit, which they only stay one year. --69.150.xxx.xxx

state laws vary.stay in compliance.i reject dogs and let cats in free.we cant charge a deposit in mass when they move in but we can charge extra.im charging 30 a month extra for 2 dogs moved in without permission.i do not like that crap . --208.58.x.xx
