What should I use on the carpeting that was urinated on by cats?
The carpeting was steam cleaned but the smell is really comming up strong.

As a last option one can use vinegar with a carpet cleaning machine. If the floor is wooden below the carpet then one may have to rip up the carpet then paint or varnish the floor below if the floor was hardwood. --209.226.xxx.xxx |

first what was your pet policy?
bill the tenant for new carpet and padding--have carpet man and carpet installer write on their invoice about the pet (cat)odor.
Once cat urine is on the floor under carpet --your hosed.
one house many moons ago--it was so bad we pulled carpet-pad and then sealed (with concrete paint) the floor in the living room. could not get that smell out.
our policy now is stated on our ad--- "we don't allow cats, other pets are reviewd on a case by case basis".

How big a stain? Simple Solution works, followed by spraying with Feliway once dry. There are other products, chief among them Odorixit which you can get thorugh this site. But if it has been months, or a large area, time to replace carpet. --151.213.x.xx |

Paint the floor with Kilz....Want to know where the P is use a BLACK LIGHT...
Replace the Pad.
Joh Don is a commercial carpet cleaning chemical supplier, they have Urine neutralizers..
We've cut the pad area out, and saved the carpet, we've also replace the whole darn thing...depends on the nose...use a female nose... --68.58.xx.xxx |

i allow only 1 fixed cat in hardwood floor apts only.if u have wall to wall and cat u will probably lose rug and pad.my policy has worked prety good in a small operation so far.i would be inclined to toss the rug and pad and maybe seal floor.good luck. --208.58.x.xx |
