On Dec. 15, I gave an eviction notice to my tenant-at-will, which she signed. At the same time, I also told her that, due to her hardship (problems in her life), she would be excused from paying Jan. rent, PLUS she wouldn't owe the $1500.00 she had owed me for electricity and cable.

She then told me that she found a place and would be out of my rental by Jan. 5.

Today is the 5th and she's ignored all calls and won't answer the door. She has not even begun to pack or move.

Today I dropped off a notice that I will be needing to get into the place in 24 hours (just to take measurements and assorted stuff).

Any ideas on how I might speed this up? This is my home and I'm staying with a friend. I need to move in to my place! --64.223.xxx.xxx

I'd notify her in writing of your intent to file suit for rent and utilities IN FULL on a certain date, "absolute" no extentions, no delays, if the apartment she currently occupies in not vacated by 00-00-08. And then file suit if non-compliant. --66.176.xxx.xxx

I'd start eviction proceedings immediately. These games can go on forever - its time to cut to the chase! --72.82.xxx.xxx

You gave her notice. She didn't move. File eviction immediately.
